Date: Tuesday, May 22, 2012 Recent NewsInternational Agricultural ShowBy Siobhan Griffin The International Agricultural Show is enormous with over 1,000 exhibitors and more than 4,500 of the finest animals on show. The show has four sections: Gastronomy, Crops, Services, and Animals. It is a great event to attend if you have kids, love food or plants. The show runs from 25 February - 4 March at the Paris Expo de Versailles.KidsThe show has around 100 activities geared toward kids. Children can learn to cook, taste food, play sports, watch a show, learn about the environment and take part in quizzes. Special areas will be set up in pavilion one and four just for children. These areas will have a place for children to play and colour. They will also have high chairs, changing tables and microwaves for parents of younger children. If you come to the show with kids, you may want to take a look at the itinerary especial created for children. AnimalsPavilions one and four feature 360 different animal breeds. It will showcase the best sheep, cows, pigs, dogs, rabbits, donkeys, ponies and other farm animals in France. Each day various breeds will compete in the show's rings. All animals entered in the competition have been chosen by various selection committees that have applied strict criteria. GastronomyIf you love food head straight to pavilions 3 and 7. Here you can sample delicious food and wine from many different regions of France. Don't worry if you just can't get enough. Pavilion 7 has a free storage, including refrigeration to keep you purchases safe and fresh while freeing up your hands so you can enjoy the rest of the show. When you visit the drinks area you will have the chance to learn how to serve various drinks and preserve them. Wine won't be the only drink available to taste, regional specialties will also tantalize your taste buds. InformationEntry costs 12 euros for adults, and 6 euros for students and children ages 6 -12. The show is open every day from 9am - 7pm, except of 2 March when it stays open until 11pm. To reach the show using public transport take Line 12 to Port de Versailles station or Line 8 to Balard station. The T2 and T3 Tramway also stops at Port de Versailles.
